The Alva FUMC Youth Program is open to youth from grades 6 to 12.
Alva FUMC provides Junior High and Senior High with captivating Sunday School classes that encourage discussion of many biblical topics. Sunday School begins at 9:30-10:30am every Sunday morning. Classes meet on the second floor of the education wing with the exception of Youth Sunday (third Sunday of every month.)
The Second Sunday of every month the Youth assist with the church service including the roles of: Lay Leader, Children's Moment Puppet Show, and Ushers. The Schedule is as follows:
Pancakes and Practice: 9:30am
Church Service: 10:30am
On Sunday Nights the youth meet from 6:00-7:30pm in the Youth Center. During this time, the youth have hangout time (fellowship) and announcements for the first 30 minutes. For the second 30 minutes Middle School and High School split into separate groups for Bible Study. Finally they come back together for the last 30 minutes and enjoy an organized high energy game time.
Wednesday Night Live starts in September and goes every Wednesday until Spring Break. 6:00-6:30pm families enjoy an affordable dinner in the Fellowship Hall. Dinner Cost $2 per person or $5 per family. 6:30-7:30pm Middle School and High School youth meet in the Education Wing for 30 minutes of separate Bible study and 30 minutes of combined game time.
Every other year a Confirmation Class is offered. It is taught by the Youth Director and the Pastor on Sunday Mornings during the Sunday School hour in the Spring.
